Introductory offer and all.The bluray/dvd feature and the large collection of ps2 games we already had are why I chose it over XBox.Don't worry about 80 gb, I can't imagine you'd ever need that much unless you use the unit like a PC. It's a ps3 - what is there to say.they've been out quite awhileMy son plays online all the time, that's a nice feature.the wireless controllers are probaly the best feature and they hold their charge a long time and recharge quickly. they won't charge without the console on, and it tends to overheat if you leave it on too long.the games are expensive, but you know that going in.the graphics are not over the top compared to ps2 like you'd expect for all the hype and the enormous price - and they don't seem to be cranking out that many impressive games.the dvd player feature is nice, and it plays dvd or bluray, but even though I have a 16:9 high def big screen, the top and bottom are always cut off. Can't say I have been that impressed with BluRay - seems overhyped. Was supposed to get several free BluRay movies with purchase of the unit, and never got them.
The Motorstorm Pack is backward compatible with Ps2 and Ps1 games. If you have a psp you can use your psp to control your ps3 from anywhere in your house. The Ps3 is more than a gaming system but more like a home media center. The Ps3 also has the ability to stream content from your home pc to your big screen. the ps3 is a great buy and a very affordable blu ray player The Ps3 has a built blu ray drive with support for new features via firmware upgrades. The Ps3 come standard with Wifi, HDMI, Blu ray, Bluetooth, and a 80gb hard drive.
tell me where i can get all this for this cheap at such good quality this is the best home theater system ive ever invest in for not only can i play games but since its hooked up to my projector i get on the internet wirelessly i watch movies and play music from my shared file of my computer and my roomates computer and i love the picture quality of the blue ray and optical sounds.
All around this is a great system that is pretty easy to operate and it makes a great media hub. Having the option to upgrade using 3rd party software and hardware is also great, although it can be confusing. I got this as a Christmas present in 2007 and I havn't been able to stop playing since. The games for this system are great and the exclusives are very well developed.
I am getting a Netflix subscription this month, and I learned that unlike the Xbox 360, the Play Station does not have a compatible interface to take advantage of the Netflix library of on demand programming. The internet browser is responsive and better then I expected. I bought this last year for the Holidays and it has not disappointed. I think Sony is probably trying to protect their own market share in the home entertainment rental arena. As a Blu Ray stand alone player, it was a great value at the time, and given the gaming and internet features this is a fun box to have in your entertainment system. I got a good deal on this on Amazon, and the price hasn't changed (gone lower) since I made the initial purchase. I don't get good customer service from Sony, but the Play Station has not given me any problems.
